Why is there a lack of truck accident concern?

As you travel throughout the state of North Carolina, it is common to be surrounded by trucks and other commercial vehicles. This is particularly true if you are on a busy highway.

As noted by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, fatal truck accidents are too common. These types of accidents lead to roughly 4,000 deaths every year, with 11 occurrences everyday throughout the United States.

There is no denying that one or more person can be killed in a truck accident. However, injuries are even more common. Every year, more than 100,000 people are injured when they are involved in a truck accident.

This problem is not going away, with the number of truck accident fatalities increasing every year since 2009. There are many reasons for this, including the fact that a growing economy has led to more goods being transported via truck. Subsequently, trucking companies are faced with the task of staying on schedule, no matter what it takes.

Truck accidents can be caused by many other issues, such as fatigued drivers, companies that do not screen to find the best drivers, and a lack of safety standards.

The United States economy relies heavily on the trucking industry, meaning that these vehicles will continue to travel the many roads throughout the country.

Serious injury or death is often the end result of a truck accident. On top of this, severe property damage is common. If somebody is injured in such an accident, they may wish to consult with an attorney to learn more about their legal rights.
