The frequency of fatal, large truck accident cases

The raw statistics for fatal car accidents are often thrown around, especially when people are comparing the safety of flying to the level of safety that you get on the roads. At the same time, people often talk about how dangerous large trucks can be, especially to the other drivers on the highways and streets. How frequent are deadly crashes involving large trucks, though, when the data is broken down?

What are some important facts about traumatic brain injury?

As the title implies, traumatic brain injury occurs when the brain experiences a sudden trauma. According to the National Institutes of Medicine, TBIs can occur in two ways, both of which are classified by the extent of damage done to the brain: mild, moderate or severe. The first way that a TBI can occur is when a victim's head is struck by some sudden external force. An example of this might be during a car accident when a victim's head smashes violently against the steering wheel.

North Carolina man cannot post bail in drug case

A man from North Carolina has been charged on a number of different counts -- there are six total in the indictment for his case, and he was named in regards to five of them -- that relate to selling crack cocaine. The incident in question happened back in 2011, and the court says that the man was working with at least two others to sell the drugs.

Federal safety officials to review handling of child seat recall

On Dec. 1, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that they will investigate the manufacturer of a child seat for its handling of a defective products recall. According to the NHTSA statement, the agency will be investigating the timeliness in which Graco Children's Products Inc. issued their recall on over 6 million defective car seats.
