2-vehicle crash involving North Carolina driver injures 1

A car accident involving two vehicles earlier on Nov. 9 injured one person in Auburn. The accident occurred in the afternoon hours at an intersection in the city. One victim had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters. The victim had what was described as minor injuries.

According to the Auburn Fire Department, the one victim had to be extricated from the vehicle because the driver side door had been crushed during the crash. Since the door was crushed, it made it unable to unlock and open by the attempts of the driver.

The Auburn Police Department noted that the victim was transported via ambulance to the Auburn Community Hospital. Police have yet to release the identifications of the people involved in the accident.

Traffic was blocked for hours as officials not only cleaned up the scene but also conducted a brief investigation into the cause of the crash. The police did not release a cause yet and also did not mention if either driver had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The vehicles involved in the accident were a green Audi registered in North Carolina and a silver Subaru. The Subaru was driven by the victim who had to be extricated. The Audi had front-end damage.
